* *** NEXTDOOR_POST_FOR_2018-05-03 TXT - 8 Nov 2019 17:16:12 - JKNAUTH Information for the 5/8/18 Election (posted on 5/2/18) ----------- --- --- ------ -------- The primary election is now underway. Election day is next Tuesday, 5/8/18; on that day your polling place opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 7:30 PM. You can also vote at an early voting site from now thru Saturday, at places and times listed in http://www.wakegov.com/elections/info/early/Pages/default.aspx. Keep in mind that on the final Saturday before election day the early voting sites may be pretty crowded and the sites are open for only three hours that day. It is now too late to request an absentee ballot, but not too late to mail one you have already received or to deliver it personally to the Board of Elections office. You CANNOT bring it to your local polling place on election day. Time constraints are described in http://www.wakegov.com/elections/info/Pages/absentee.aspx. It is now too late to register by mail in time for the current election, although you can register and vote on the same day at an early voting site (see link above for restrictions). Even if you can't register in time for this election, start the procedure now so you will be registered and able to vote in the November 2018 election. If you are reading this, you are likely in either precinct 19-19 or 19-18 (both new as of the 2017 division of precinct 19-10). For some detailed information (precinct maps, how to register to vote or check your registration information, how to access and park at Sanford Creek Elementary School, etc.), see http://jgkhome.name/WakeBOE/19-19.htm. That web page is mainly for 19-19 voters, but also has some information that may be helpful to people in 19-18. Jeff Knauth Chief Judge for precinct 19-19.
